2009 is right around the corner, and saying goodbye to 2008 is bitter sweet for me. We had a good year business-wise, a competitor (for our salon businesses) went to wayside (as predicted), and the best gift came by the name of ‘Summer’.
But the recession has hit some of my friends very hard. And that is disturbing us.
2009 will be challenging because we have a new competitor coming to town (for our salon businesses). But, we are not worried. We are darn good at marketing our salon and spa’s. Read the rest of this entry »

According to a recent study by Knowledge Networks, nearly half of consumers use the print Yellow Pages to find a business. But, they are using other media to supplement their search.
This study also found that 48% of consumers use the Yellow Pages most often, and 77% use print Yellow Pages. But that they are using the search engines, Internet Yellow Pages, mobile search, GPS, vertical sites, 411, and social networks to search for dentists, lawyers, pizza parlors and other types of businesses.

A study by Harris Interactive states that “as the economic slowdown pushes consumers to re-evaluate spending behaviors and tighten budgets, deal-seeking may become even more common:
What does this tell you? Test coupons in MORE media: text message marketing (SMS), Online (Website and other), and of course Offline.
