2009 is right around the corner, and saying goodbye to 2008 is bitter sweet for me. We had a good year business-wise, a competitor (for our salon businesses) went to wayside (as predicted), and the best gift came by the name of ‘Summer’.
But the recession has hit some of my friends very hard. And that is disturbing us.
2009 will be challenging because we have a new competitor coming to town (for our salon businesses). But, we are not worried. We are darn good at marketing our salon and spa’s.
With that said, what are your marketing plans for 2009?
Without sounding condescending, let me ask you another question: Are you going to reduce your advertising budget because of the recession?
Marketing should be increased, not decreased, friend. It’s the highest paying position in your company. Without good consistent marketing customers trickle through the door. You will rely on crossed fingers, not predictable results.
I challenge you to sit down and plan out (at least six months ahead) different promotions you will roll out, and then stick to your deadlines.
I guarantee you’ll see results from your efforts. Maybe enormous results.
