Is Your Salon and Spa Marketing Getting Customers In The Door?

Now would be a good time to add a little sizzle to your salon and spa marketing and increase your profits. So what can you do to draw existing clients back and compel prospective clients to make an appointment and check out your services.

Let’s be honest here. You want to build a repeat client base that continues to return time and time again because you offer terrific services, but unless there is a significant profit margin you will not continue to run your salon and spa business, because at the end of the day it really is about profits. That’s why you need to turn up the heat on your salon and spa marketing plan, increasing your clients and therefore your profits.

What you don’t want to do is what everyone else is doing. Pick up the phone book there’s pages and pages of yellow page ads. Grab the local paper – is there anything that distinguishes one salon or spa ad from  another. Pretty women, perhaps a little bit of color but I’ll bet not one of them has a message that says Come to my salon and spa because here’s an offer you simply won’t be able to resist.

At the core, all businesses are the same when it comes to marketing. You need to get the potential clients attention, generate interest with them, create enough desire, that it generates an action. Where businesses differ is when they come up with the marketing plan that works.

If all you’re going to say in your marketing is that you’re as good as the salon or the spa down the road, then you should just save your marketing dollars. For example, you run an ad telling your potential clients your location, your services, and then you say, “why not give us a try?” That is a poor marketing strategy. Instead, make your claim to fame – tell your potential clients why you are better than any other salon or spa. Claim something that none of the competition has and don’t be afraid to claim high. Why can’t you say “Here’s Why Luxury Spa Has The Most Desired Spa Treatments In Lake Tahoe!” You can and you should.

You’ve heard it before “go big or go home” and nothing could be truer than when it comes to your marketing campaign. Make big promises – make your salon and spa marketing and your actual business stand out in the crowd. If you can’t do that, don’t bother spending money on your marketing. When you make big promises, you can actually run a very small ad. What’s a big promise? Here’s a great example, “If you aren’t 100% satisfied your treatment is FREE.” If you are worried that potential clients will abuse your guarantee, don’t, because statistically it seems that those salons and spas with the strongest guarantee actually have the least amount of trouble.

There you have it – just a few great tips to add a little sizzle to your salon and spa marketing campaign. What are you waiting for? Isn’t it time to ad some sizzle to your salon and spa marketing and bring in new clients…and increase your profits?
