Improve Your Beauty Salon Marketing Campaign

beauty salon marketingIf you want to improve your beauty salon marketing campaign, the very first thing you need to do is up the anti and make a very strong offer to your potential clients. What can you do for those potential clients that the competition cannot?

Sure, you can use beautiful models, some fancy graphics, and some great copy that tells the world how good you are, but that is not going to be enough to entice someone to try your beauty salon. Potential clients want to know “what’s in it for me?” and so you must make them an offer that will cause them to pick up the phone, call, and make an appointment. Let’s look at an example of a poor ad, and an ad that will have the phone ringing and your schedule booked.

The first example is of a poor ad. You take out a quarter-page ad in your local paper. It’s even a color ad. You show a beautiful model with her hair done in a glamorous style and a picture of your location, even a little map. Your text says, “We do special occasion styles.”

There’s an ad that will do little for your business, even though it’s color and a quarter-page ad. Now let’s look at a good example. You take out a small ad 2” x 2” in size, with no color, no fancy models. Your ad simply says “Weddings, Graduation – Glamorous Styles For All Special Occasions.” “If you don’t love it – it’s FREE.”

That headline needs a little work, but it’s quantum leaps ahead of the first. And don’t be surprised that in no time the second ad not only pays for itself, but you enjoy increased revenues because those potential clients are going to give you a try. After all, you’ve filled their “what’s in it for me?” need.

If you are going to make a guarantee but you are going to put all kinds of conditions on it, save your money, because potential clients aren’t interested in these types of conditions. For example, “You must have your hair done on Mondays or Tuesdays and you must spend more than $75.” That’s a condition on the guarantee of “or it’s free.”

The benefits of a guarantee with no conditions far exceeds what it will potentially cost you. Besides, almost all beauty salons already refund if you complain about a cut or a style. They just don’t make a point of telling everyone. You will do much better if you use a strong guarantee to bring the potential client in and make the sale to begin with, rather than using a refund to fall back on just in case you have an unhappy customer.

Improving your beauty salon marketing isn’t that difficult. These few salon marketing ideas will get you started. The key is to think outside the box and do something different than what the competition is doing. You really will stand out from the rest, and your business will prosper as a result.
